Escaping the Heat

We took a quick trip up to Cashiers on Saturday with the Dunlaps and the Orrs. Andy had a great time showing Corinne all of his favorite Mountaintop places (kid's lawn, putting green and multiple fireplaces). They are definitely starting to realize each other because they typically end up wanting to play with the same thing, which starts a little power struggle. It is really funny to watch the dynamics, and to see how they work it out (like when they compromised on the big wheel and both just got on, sadly no picture attached as a witness- it was hilarious). We think that these two spirited kids will always end up in a tie. Thanks for coming up! And, for your patience Cliff and Amanda... this will be y'all before you know it! Hopefully not the Sunday morning bloody nose :( I am afraid that we forever grossed Cliff out.

Our new spot

Lately, our new "spot" has been the St. James Church playground. It is open to the community, which includes us since we only live 5 minutes away. On Friday afternoon, we met Fain and Kate and Frankie and Cindy there for a little playdate. Kate (and Fain) enjoyed giving me hugs and kisses. (She is also a great dancer too!)

Hornets!

We had a massive hornets nest removed from our side driveway yesterday. I can not believe that we let it go this far and get this large. Especially with it being only a couple of feet away from a heavy travel area. Yikes! Just a word of advice, remove them as soon as you see them and when they are small- the suckers are NOT cheap to take down...

15 month checkup

Because Dr. Harris was out on maternity leave, we had our 15 month check-up at 16 1/2 months. Andy seems to be right on track and is a happy and growing little boy.

Potty Time!

We were so inspired by little Avalana, who is potty trained at 10 months old, that we decided to try out a little potty training ourselves. It is really just to give him his own potty to play with so that he will stop sticking his hands in all of our other ones (see below). This potty sings great songs and congratulates you when you use the potty and flush (it has a laser on it that detects the pee-- don't worry dad, we only paid $21 for it). Well, Andy has no interest in actually using the thing (which we figured it was way too early anyways), but he has taken interest in making the thing sing so that he can dance to it. I guess that it has turned into a toy after all. We will keep trying!

I am usually in one of these 4 spots around the house. I am a big climber (like my Pop) and I like to push all the limits. Anything that mom or dad say "no" to is where I am heading first! I am one curious and head strong little boy

Aunt Kak Kak visits!

My Aunt Kak Kak came down from Richmond this past weekend for a visit. I loved seeing her, and she had fun playing with me and teaching me new tricks. Come back soon!

Happy 4th!

Happy 4th of July! We escaped the Atlanta heat, and headed up to Gogo and Bo Daddy's new place at Mountaintop in Cashiers for a long holiday weekend. I had a blast doing all of my usual stuff: playing on the putting green, finding every fireplace in the clubhouse and running up to it and saying "Fire, Hot!", and taking spins around in the golf cart. We went to the 4th of July Carnival on Friday night, and I had the best time. There were so many kids there, and fun events/ games for kids of all ages (there was a 10' wide x 200' long slip and slide!). I stayed up waaaayyy past my bedtime to catch my first fireworks show. I was a little scared at the beginning, then loved it, then almost fell asleep I was so tuckered out.
